This Ford Sierra Sapphire looks very original, 2wd and it looked very standard, the owner has resisted the urge to change it to the later 4wd bonnet with the vents in it, and it has the original Lattice wheels and interior , a very nice example. The bonnet wasn't opened on it so I am not sure of the specification. It also had the original amber indicators and side repeaters that are generally changed to aftermarket or non turbo spec clear ones.
This was a mk1 escort, with twin sidedrafts crossflow with extractors, and had the period cible spotlights. It had adjustable top mounts and period rocker cover, it was immaculate despite being a white engine bay which is hard to keep clean.
This was an immaculate BDA mk1 escort, concours condition it could not be faulted.
There was a RS3100 capri sitting alongside the BDA escort. Very nice car, notice the differences visually between it and a std capri ( see below), the black quarter bumpers twin headlights , duck tail spoiler, pin striping and graphics on the fuel cap, RS alloys with RS caps and the original colour.
This was a pre-facelift mk1 capri, it had a black bonnet and 'C' windows colour combination over a brass / metallic brown body, the wheels were gun metal grey minilites, the car was very well presented, concours quality with a road / track theme. Bumpers were immaculate, and all brightwork looked like new.
The engine was a V6 and had a unusual but very trick, twin sidedraft manifold and carb setup, I havent seen the manifold before and assume its a either homemade or aftermarket it resembled a cross ram manifold that they have on some of the v8's, the welding looked excellent if it was homemade. It also had foam air filter kit as well.
The car had some very trick touches with a oil catch can adjustable topmount's on the suspension. It has a tow hook also added as well. A very well sorted car that would be great on the track.
This was a Mk3 ford capri laser in original condition, it was for sale and had 4 spoke original alloys, all original body and graphics and the larger body mouldings. It also had a colour coded grille which I didnt think was original and might have been un-coloured black on the laser models (correct me if I am wrong) and also colour coded wing mirrors and headlight bezels. It had the lesser spec sunroof that pops up rather than the wind back sunroof on the higher spec models such as the 2.8i, and original cloth interior and seats door cards etc. A very tidy unmodified example.I didn't see under the bonnet and assume it was either the original 2.0L pinto or a 1.6 pinto.
The bumpers were all in excellent condition, and had all the retaining screw covers which are a sign the car has been well looked after. And had some aftermarket headlight covers.
This MK1 pre facelift capri had a widebody flare kit that accompanied the engine conversion, alot of the time the flare kits are put on to cover the fact the the width (wheel to wheel) has increased, I didnt see the rear end of the vehicle but would assume he is running a falcon lsd axle to match the engine conversion. The front and rear bumpers are colour coded, and also had a front splitter. It also had non capri wing mirrors that look like they are off an early falcon.
The capri was highly modified fitted with what looks like a XR6 turbo engine, as you can see its a tight fit, he has the throttle inlet cut into the inner wing, and likewise with the turbo inlet.It also had a strut brace, and the inner guards had the double skin around the strut tops indicating that it may have been a 3L originally. They have also grafted in the falcon brake booster as well it looks like.
A lot of hard work and money has gone into the car to get the running gear working. The paint was immaculate and a non original colour with GT badges. While not to everyones taste you can appreciate how much work has gone into it. Alot of small touches have been put into the car when you look up close such as the bonnet struts, and alot of parts have been chromed under the bonnet as well.
This mk1 cortina, has also been at a few other shows, its a GT 4 door with the rear louvers and minilite's again its immaculate.
