All Ford Day Canberra 23rd November 2013 Part 1

All Ford Day

On Saturday the 23rd November I made the journey down to the All Ford Day. It's just out of Canberra, in a town called Queanbeyan. Coming from Sydney and it not being a long weekend and no other major events on, it was fine traffic wise. Its approximately 3-3.5 hours drive from central city, we stopped mid way in a small town called Berrima, its a minor 10 mins at the most off the main highway and is a historic town filled with character.

They had plenty of cafes and gourmet bakeries and plenty of craft shops. There is 2 bakeries we tried. Underneath Mrs Oldbucks Pantry there is a Bakery on Wingecaribbee Street, and also we tried one at "Gumnut Patisserie" next to the Historic Post Office on Old Hume Highway. They had previously won awards for there pies and were pretty good.

The show itself was on Saturday, and had a large swapmeet at the other end of the venue. On Sunday they also continued the Show but was for American Car Nationals GM Day. There isn't a carpark for non showcars to park up in, but as it borders on the edge of a neighborhood there was plenty of parking on nearby side streets about 5-10 mins walk away, at the most.

The venue has a large grandstand , a few separated field and bathroom / toilet facilities. Entry was $4 per day. And you can get a stamp pass out if required.

On the way into Canberra / Queanbeyan, it worth noting that there are a few picnic stops on the main highway in that are with stopping and having a look. The area overlooks a lake that has dried out and the view are quite impressive.
