Forgotten Ford Sunday Car show 3rd November 2013 Sydney Part 1



On Sunday the 3rd of November I made my way out to Parramatta Park to check out the "Forgotten Ford Sunday" car show.
It's a small event compared with the All Ford Day annual events, but nonetheless still worth a visit.
This year it was overcast, and coming out from central Sydney to the show for the first time I found it easy to get to the park, within the park the traffic flow is circular flowing one way traffic , and once your in you just follow it around to where all the cars are parked up. The event is free to attend.

Weather was overcast but still humid and hot. The setting of Parramatta park was extremely dry but had a few  nicely colored blooming trees within it. It also had bbq and picnic tables




The show was small and cosy, with a well rounded mix of small British Fords.






This anglia was restored in period rat rod style, I think it was a non crossflow, single side draft, and as you can see from pics strut brace, larger radiator.

It had lotus rims / widened , with white walls, dice air valve caps , chequered roof that was a
vinyl wrap but you could only tell up very close.







It had the classic GT40 style side sills graphic's. Chequer oil breather cap, 8 ball gear knob , and sticker bombing on the rear quarter windows. And the classic rear window louvre's that are common addition in Australia.



This small group of capri's were parked up just outside the event. They looked like 2 V8's, and a 1600 or 2000 , they were all pre facelift. The one in the middle looked like it had a tunnel ram and air scoop and RS3100 rear duck tail spoiler. With weld star mags.
The 1600 / 2000 one, the closest one in the picture had 12 slot mags and tints. And the other V8 one had modgies.They all looked pretty immaculate.










This mk2 1976 capri, is a regular on the car show scene, and probably in a few other of my car show reviews on this blog. It is yet another immaculate example.
Its a American import I think from memory and has a lot of the later MK3 options, the owner has a plaque out the front when it is on show.
It has the deeper impact bumpers for the American market, it has mk3 twin headlights and indicators in the grills as well as side repeaters. It also has the V6 later model 2.8 engine carburetted, and interior wise it has a wind back sunroof, and hatch spoiler.  (correct me if I am wrong on any of this)


This was a immaculate pre facelift, on std rostyles with the Australian "Super-roo" sticker.
The after market bonnet vents were not my cup of tea, as well as the bonnet pins. A very nice example.





This was an immaculate RS2000 with twin sidedraughts , and it was show quality all the fluid reservoirs were clean or new, and considering it was a white engine bay was very clean.



The owner of this escort cosworth had a magazine open on his dash showing a previous article about this particular car being road tested in the likes of Autocar magazine. It also had a link to his company where he assists on UK imports

It was unmodified from what I could see, it has everything in tip top shape, the usual, heat shield dirty tanks and cambelt covers are tell tale signs that the owner has gone to great lengths to look over the car.









This sticker was on the back of a RS Focus, a variation of the usual "YB" inside sticker. Not sure of the Royal Nasho, must be an Australian thing.












This RS500 is a regular at most of the NSW shows and is just as impressive in person as it appears in the pics it looks totally standard, and the 8 injectors / bigger turbo are a give away thats its not a replica, it also has the plaque by the window switches with the tickford number. Its great to see it out and in the Texaco livery is a real head turner. These are getting more and more valuable and is great to see people still getting them out of the garage and taking them to shows, as that's whats its all about.
